School Uniform

School uniform is an important part of our culture at St Francis. It supports a sense of belonging, is grounded in equality and is an outward sign of our faith.
Uniform is an equaliser, which means that points of difference are removed, and social pressures are lessened. Our uniform is another way that we reduce any pressure on students and parents who might worry about latest fashion trends, affordability or peer pressure because all students are dressed in the same way.
Students should not just wear their school uniform, but they should also wear it correctly. Adaptations are a choice, contrary to why we have a uniform.
Most frequent challenges:
– Shoes are shoes. We do not allow trainers or sports brands as footwear.
– Trousers or skirts should not be tight to the body.
– Make up must be minimal, and extensions or false nails are not permitted.
– Facial piercings are not permitted
