Communication

At St Francis we believe that communication is key to fostering a thriving school community. Our communication channels include:

• Newsletters: Regular updates on school events, announcements, and highlights.

• School Website: A hub for essential information, including key dates, key information and policies.

• Email, Text Alerts and Class Charts: Prompt notifications for important updates, emergencies, reminders and individual student tracking (homework/ attendance/ behaviours).

• Progress evening and assessment reports: Opportunities for personalised discussions about student progress.

• Social Media: For real-time updates and celebrations of our school community.

We aim to acknowledge all communications within 48 hours during the school week although we do encourage staff and parents not to communicate after 18:00 or before 08:00. While we encourage open dialogue and feedback, we ask for communication to remain respectful and reasonable. Abusive, overly frequent, or unreasonable behaviour is hard for all parties and cannot be tolerated and may result in restricted contact to ensure a positive and professional environment for everyone.

At St Francis of Assisi we are committed to fostering a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for all members of our school community. This includes ensuring that our staff have the right to work free from any form of abuse—whether verbal, physical, written, or online. Abuse, harassment, or intimidation directed towards staff will not be tolerated under any circumstances. We expect all students, parents, carers, and visitors to engage with staff in a respectful and constructive manner at all times.

Thank you for helping us maintain a positive and safe atmosphere where everyone can thrive.
